kogi state polytechnic to be renamed after late prince Audu

The Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja, has been
renamed after late Prince Abubakar Audu. It is
now to be known as Abubakar Audu
Polytechnic, Lokoja.
This followed the resolution of the Kogi State
Executive Council at its valedictory meeting
held in Lokoja yesterday.
The state commissioner for Information, Hajiya
Zainab Suleiman Okino, disclosed this while
briefing news men at the end of the EXCO
meeting.
According to her, the decision is in recognition
of the monumental contribution of the late
former Governor to the development of the
state.
Prince Audu, who was the candidate of All
Progressives Congress (APC) in the November
27 governorship election in the state died
before the result of the election was
announced.
He was a two-time executive governor of the
state.
Incidentalyl, Audu was the one who built the
state polytechnic during his first tenure as
executive governor of the state in 1991.
