Welcome to the Corporate World

Ayuba Hamidan Salihu is a new graduate. I congratulate you and wish you flying colours in your result. May Allah The Exalted help you to retain your Second Class Upper Division. We all love good grades but the grades that matter today are the hidden grades.

You're now a graduate but the only way to graduate from the college mentality is to discover what your true passion is and to pursue it with the Killer Instinct. Don't follow the crowd and wherever you set your foot,  think out of the box. You can get what you want to get in life with a road map and crazy determination.

As I've always told you, this is the time to start educating yourself about the real world outside the dream college life. They don't teach corporate in college and now you're into the corporate world even though college life is four years while corporate life is the rest of life. You either get set or you'll be sidestepped.

Charly Tremendous said, " You will be the same person in the next four to five years except for the books you read and the people you meet." Also Newton Baker said , “The man who graduates today and stops learning tomorrow is
uneducated the day after.”

I challenge you to challenge your assumptions and prepare yourself to the future. Develop a competitive edge and survive economic downtimes.  Minimum readers earn minimum wages. Read good books, read business books, read business biographies, read inspirational books, read business journals, read novels, read classics read the economist, business week read your way to the future, read your way to the top, read and grow rich, read and become resourceful. Read everything. Any book is better than no book, said Professor Munzali Jibril.

Network and get work. Mike Litman said that, " Your network equals your networth." Meet creative thinkers, strategic thinkers and lateral thinkers. Mingle with Kinesthetic thinkers, Janusian thinkers, Outlandish thinkers. Join professional bodies and value adding leadership organizations. Meet fools. Converse with the wise. Play with the poor. Work with the rich. People are your greatest resources. Never underestimate anybody. Travel often. See the world.

When you read, you'll be fREAD and when you refuse to read, you'll be fREEZED.

I open my doors to you. Come to me for anything. I want to guide you with the little that I know. I see your hunger to learn. Come and learn with me.

Go big my boy. The world is your oyster. I'm proud of you.

Congratulations!
